Good afternoon Church family,
One of my favorite things to watch on YouTube is a man who restores old paintings. Paintings people would probably write off but that have incredible value. God has uniquely gifted him.
It is fascinating to watch as he uses giant cotton swabs dipped in a solution of some kind and then gently, using a circular motion, rubs off old varnish and dirt to reveal the once vibrant colours below.
It’s nice to think that this is how God sees us, he sees beneath all the grubbiness to the masterpiece below. His Holy Spirit gently does His work to reveal the glory of God’s original masterpiece of us that has been hidden because of the fall. 1 Peter 5:10 “And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you.” This is what we have to look forward to in our faith journeys.
