In Luke chapter 8, Jesus tells a parable of a Sower sowing seed onto different kinds of soil. We know from His explanation that He is the Sower, and the seed represents the Word or the Gospel. The soil represents our hearts, and this parable urges us to question whether the condition of our hearts is more like the hardened soil on the path, the rocky soil, the soil filled with weeds or do our hearts correspond to the good soil? Through patient and consistent obedience to His Word, our hearts can be conditioned and softened until they represent the good soil, yielding a manifold and glorious Kingdom crop.
