In Luke chapter 11, we find the account of Jesus driving out a demon that was mute. Some of those who were among the crowd accused Jesus of driving the demon out by Beelzebub, the prince of demons. Jesus responds by telling a parable to show that when believers are set free from Satan’s bondage, the void left in their souls must be filled by the Holy Spirit through obedience to God’s word and conforming their lives to Jesus’ teachings, otherwise the evil will return until the “final condition of that person is worse than the first.”
