2024-11-17 Sermon – Abundant Fruit

In Luke chapter 13 Jesus tells a parable of a fruitless fig tree. Even though it has not brought forth fruit for many years, God in His patience and forbearance gives it another chance and continues to irrigate and fertilize the soil around it. The account of the healing of the woman bent over by Satan for 18 years showcases this teaching by casting the synagogue leader in the role of the tree without fruit. We often fail to see how our refusal to bear fruit for the Kingdom affects others, and what an abundance there will be for us to share with others if we are only prepared to allow God to work His will in our lives.
