Join us this week as we continue in Luke Chapter 14. From verse 25 to 34, we encounter a series of Jesus’ sayings on the cost of discipleship. Jesus is teaching us that we need to prioritize our love for God above everything else in our lives. But we also learn that all love has its origin in God. It is therefore God who gently pulls us towards Him and through encountering His love in the person of Jesus, we can start to love others. This surrender of all other loves to God is the cost of being a disciple. We should surrender to God and sue for peace because there is no way we can be victorious in battle against Him. Once we have surrendered to Him, all other loves can be resurrected safely within the context of His grace towards us.
