The Parable of the Lost Son is the third of Jesus’ parables of lostness. In this parable, the Fathers’ love for us shines brightly, both for those who are lost as well as for the faithful. We are reminded that Grace need not be fair by our standards, as it is unmerited favor that God pours out on all of us through His lovingkindness. We are all given our inheritance of free will, but it is our choice whether to set up a kingdom of our own, or whether to remain in our Father’s house and become part of His Kingdom.
