Good morning Church family,
I hope this morning finds you well. One more day and we move to level 2. It is a time of joy at being able to move around again, go back to work and school again, but it is also a time of anxiety, have we done enough, I don’t want those I love to get sick. There is a lot of uncertainty out there. But we find comfort in strong leaders like our prime minister and in our ultimate leader King Jesus.
I was reading this morning about how the word King came into being. It’s roots are found in the word kin, an old fashioned word for family. The King is meant to be our kin. The King is meant to be of us and so the fact that he is kin means he understands who we are, he knows everything about us really. This guides him to lead well because he knows his people. Jesus is our kin for we are children of God, and who better to know the children of God then God’s own son. He is one of us, He knows what it is like to live as we do and yet Jesus is not corruptible, He will not make mistakes, that is why He is the best King. He is the safest pair of hand to entrust our lives too, He will not let us down come what may and because we are His kin He loves us beyond measure and wants what is best for us. We can trust Him for our future!
Romans 8:28 says “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
