Good morning Church Family,
This morning I was reading about the prophet Elijah during my quiet time. Boy, prophets had things rough, trying to do the will of God as people chased you down trying to kill you. It was no wonder that Elijah was a bit grumpy at times and who can blame him really. He was authentic to say the least. I had never noticed before but one day after a long drought, a big storm came bringing rain again. Elijah told King Ahab to leave and return by chariot. The scripture says that the power of God came upon him and he ran ahead beating the King home. A real life Flash if you follow superheroes.
God’s promises remain today, and He equally empowers us when we need Him to. But perhaps we don’t always notice quite how supported we are. I wonder if we were to see in the spiritual realm, what that might look like, we might see God holding us up in ways we can’t even imagine.
Isaiah 40:31 says but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
