Good afternoon Church family,
Today I am thankful for God’s provision. He is a good Father who cares for and provides for my every need. I was remembering the time I had to leave Zimbabwe, I did not have a penny to my name but was going to South Africa to live with my brother and his wife to try and build a life for myself. My parents tried to help me but they didn’t have much themselves. I remember thinking I will need a small amount of money when I arrive to tide me over for a few weeks. I did not tell my parents because I knew they would gladly give it to me but they needed it more. So I prayed and asked God to provide for me, I even mentioned a specific amount. I didn’t tell a soul about that prayer.
Some women in my church had an afternoon tea to send me off and during that, the husband of one of the women called me aside. He said Laurie I have something for you, God put it on my heart to give it to you. Off he went and I opened the envelope, and it was the exact amount I had prayed for. And I have seen His faithfulness in many other ways since then. 2 Corinthians 9:8 says “And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.”
This is why I serve Him, I am deeply grateful to Him for His love and provision, I want to do all I can for His Kingdom. Where have you seen God’s provision in your life?
