Tuesday, 21 July 2020 – Consoled by God

Good afternoon Church family,

The verse for today in the Bible app is 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NRSV, it says “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God.”

How amazing is the fact that not only are we consoled by God but in the consolation we receive, we are able to bring real consolation to those that suffer as well. This is not only that we develop empathy but that we pass on the love of God that is the only true source of healing. This is God working out beauty from ashes.

So if you are going through something hard at the moment, know that God is there and he wants to console you with a consolation that only He can give which in time will grow and spill over and allow you to console others because of what God has done for you.

May you know His comfort and peace.

Blessings

Laurie
