Good morning Church Family
This morning during my quiet time I was seeking God on what to share next in my devotionals to you and I strongly felt him prompt me to do a series that unpacks the concept of wisdom. How wise of God to suggest this! The thing we all need more of in our Christian walk is wisdom. Wisdom will help us to navigate all the challenges we face in our faith journeys and in our relationships with others. Without it we will certainly struggle to find our way ahead. So what is wisdom and how can we obtain it.
Proverbs 4:7 says “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.” So wisdom is understanding, understanding that helps us to make good decisions. Proverbs 1:7 says “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” So the best place to start is to acknowledge that we need wisdom that comes only from God and to embrace the process of discovering it; making it a priority in our hearts and minds is the best place to start. James gives us a practical action to get the process started. He says “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5 NIV
So as we start this journey, pause and ask God to help you develop in your love for Him out of which wisdom will come and then in the coming days as we look at various aspects of wisdom embrace the process and be prepared to learn.
Blessings
