Good afternoon Church family
It’s so good to be back in the office this morning and I’m looking forward to catching up with everyone on Sunday!
This morning in my quiet time I was reflecting on Jesus’ explanation on The Parable of the Sower and the soils in Mark 4. In particular this verse “And those are the ones on whom seed was sown on the good soil; and they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold”” Mark 4:20 NASB. The two words that jumped out for me were “accept it.” When we hear God’s word we need to accept its truth, for it is only in accepting it, can God begin to work a change in us. Of course we can choose not to accept it but then our soil is going to spring up weeds of doubt and concerns aimed at distracting us from the path we are meant to take.
So the next time we hear something God is saying to us, let’s ask ourselves do I accept this into my heart or am I struggling with this lesson. Hopefully the answer is yes, if not ask God to help you to accept it and then step out in faith in obedience and follow. God has assured us that if we do this we will produce good fruit.
