Good afternoon Church family
One of the things I spoke about on Sunday was that God abides with us. The word abide means a state that is ongoing and never ending. How blessed we are to have a God that actively seeks us out wanting to be in relationship with us on an ongoing basis. As God abides with us so we too should abide in Him. It reminded me of that beautiful verse “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalms 91:1 NASB
In other translations the word abide is translated as rest, so rest in the shadow. The word dwell also means to abide. So it could say He who abides in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. In other words, He or she that takes shelter with God can expect all the promises and rest that God provides when we live under his protective covering. I don’t know about you but that sounds like the perfect place to be, everything else can not compare. So the next time you are feeling anxious or stressed, how about reminding yourself where you abide, it’s under the shadow of the Almighty!
Blessings
