Good morning Church Family,
Have you ever had periods of despondency, maybe you look at the world and suddenly fear and depression takes over, how do you move on beyond this point. What are some of the steps we can take.
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Psalms 56:3 NIV
Here is the first clue, first we acknowledge how we feel, when I am afraid….then in spite of that I put my trust in God.
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.” Psalms 34:4 NIV
I do this by taking everything to God knowing that He is the one who can deliver me from my fears.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”” Joshua 1:9 NIV
Then I rise and face what needs to be faced as I have God behind me and before me.
Swindoll says we go from face down to our knees to standing in confidence. We see this pattern in the Psalms and this was often what David did.
If you are face down today, pray and once you have prayed, stand!
Blessings
Laurie
