Tuesday, 21 September 2021 – God Will Happen

Good afternoon Church family,

The more I think about this season we are in globally, the more I realise how much the world desperately needs to rely on God. You see in life it is easy to rely on science, on people, on government, on money, on a whole variety of things really, to solve our problems. And don’t get me wrong I am not saying we shouldn’t make use of these things. The problem is none of these things are full proof. When you realise that, you can begin to be filled with fear and desperation about the future. It can begin to feel like there is no solid ground to stand on. We might spend time fearfully trying to figure out what to do next or how to survive if the worst happens and again I am not saying we shouldn’t be proactive.

What I am saying is this …. what if God wants to use this season to instil in His people the need to come to a greater dependency on Him.Where the message we should all be hearing from Him is I am in control. God is working it out, we may not know what that looks like but we know who God is and the promises He has for His people. We can depend on Him, in fact He is our surest solution. Are you struggling with moments of fear lately, these are scary times? Is it affecting your peace of mind? Can I suggest that you take your worries to God, and work on increasing your reliance on Him to provide for you. Instead of saying, what if that happens how will I cope, instead say “if this happens… then God will happen.

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.”

1 Peter 5:6 NIV

Blessings

Laurie
