As we start the journey of advent, we light the first candle representing Hope. We look at the Song of Mary recorded in chapter 1 of the Gospel of Luke. Mary exalted God, even though she knew He was calling her to a difficult task, she knew that God was merciful and faithful, and therefore she was ready and willing to fulfill God’s awesome call on her life. But God has also placed a similar call on our lives – to carry the Christ-child in our hearts to the rest of the world. Can we follow in the example of Mary and trust God enough to fulfill this awesome call?
