Good afternoon Church family,
I was reflecting on what a year 2020 has been; I think there is not a person on the planet that hasn’t been affected in someway. Many of us are having to face things we never thought we would face. My prayers this afternoon are with the people of Lebanon. To be experiencing a crisis within a crisis must be unbearable. How do you come through something like that?
The comforting words of our Lord came to mind:
““I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”” John 16:33 NIV
To answer my question: you come through something like that because you believe in all the things you have come to know through the Bible about the person of Jesus. Trouble is unavoidable but Our Almighty God can not be overcome and those of us who belong to Him will find peace. Not a temporary peace but a solid peace based not on what is happening around us but in who we serve. We have no surer footing on which to stand, then Jesus.
May you know Jesus’ gift of peace even in the midst of the fire!
