Friday, 14 August 2020 – Goodness and Mercy

Good morning Church family,

This morning I made the comment to my husband, “I wonder what today will bring?” His prompt reply, without delay was “goodness and mercy.” He said “remember what Psalm 23:6 says: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.”” He said “God says all the days of my life, not just some.” You see Psalm 23 is my husband’s psalm, when stressed or worried he repeats it over and over. This psalm is written on his heart and so it springs to mind now when he needs it most and it brought me comfort today. My response to him was “Thanks for writing my daily devotional today!”

So whatever today brings we can depend on God’s mercy and goodness. With things possibly changing very quickly we will either meet on Sunday or I will post my sermon on our YouTube channel. We can be flexible because we are united, there is a thread that weaves us together that cannot be broken. I will send out the weekly Newsletter after we have the 5:30pm briefing today so that you have the most up-to-date information for Sunday.

Blessings

Laurie
