Good morning Church family,
Proverbs 4:2-9 says “I give you sound learning, so do not forsake my teaching. For I too was a son to my father, still tender, and cherished by my mother. Then he taught me, and he said to me, “Take hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands, and you will live. Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Cherish her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honour you. She will give you a garland to grace your head and present you with a glorious crown.””
This is a touching set of instructions from a Father to a beloved Son. He wants his son to lead a good and happy life. Perhaps the son has doubts, perhaps he has questions, perhaps he is seeking answers outside of what His father has taught him. The father reminds the son, I was you once, I am not saying these things to force you into my ways, I am telling you this because of my lived experience and I love you, I don’t want you to make the mistakes I have made. Get wisdom even if it costs you everything. True wisdom can only be found in God. Hold the wisdom of God as your most cherished possession, embrace it, wrestle with it even if you don’t fully understand it but never let go of it.
If you are in a time of questioning can I encourage you to cling to God and His ways, seek understanding. And if you should find yourself seeking answers outside of God’s domain which many of us do at times in our journey of faith remember you can always return to Our Father in Heaven who longs to hold you in His arms again and truly has the answers to all of life’s questions. He created you, there is no one who knows you better than He, you can trust him with your questions. If you need answers and are not seeming to get anywhere, please come and see me, I would love to journey with you on the things you struggle with.
Blessings
Laurie
