Good afternoon Church Family
“But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head.” Psalms 3:3 NASB. Have you ever thought about what stands before you as you face the hard times in life. It is the Lord himself, He is your personal shield. He is your protector and your defender.
During a very difficult moment in my life this verse came into my mind; interestingly it is also a song we sang back in the day, perhaps that is why I remembered it. It brought me comfort, I repeated it over and over “you are a shield about me.” I declared to the Lord who I knew Him to be, and it brought me comfort. But that is not all, the verse also says He is the one who is the lifter of my head. That one took time to come to fruition but looking back I can clearly see He brought me through. It is like He walked across the room and saw me downcast and with His hand gently tilted my chin up, looking deep in my eyes He said, I know it doesn’t feel like it now but you are going to be okay.”
May the Lord be your shield and the lifter of your head!
