Good morning Church family,
How blessed we are to live in New Zealand, sheltered in many respects from many of the burdens of the world today. In watching the news and seeing a return to lockdown for England and France, my prayers are with those we love abroad. We stand in pray and solidarity with our brothers and sisters struggling through this pandemic and the effect it has on ordinary life.
The prophet Habakkuk didn’t live through a pandemic but did he did live through a time of war, as the Babylonians rose to power. If you read his cry to God it is incredibly honest, he holds nothing back. Yet this part stands out for me: “Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.” Habakkuk 3:2 NIV
We are part of God’s grand story, we must not forget this. We too should long to see the powerful work of the Lord in our time. Would you join me in this prayer today:
Lord we have heard of your fame; we stand in awe of you deeds! Do a mighty work in our world again Lord, bring healing both physically and spiritually. Turn the hearts of people back to you. We pray for your mercy to be evidenced in a new way in our time. Amen.
May the God of peace fill you with His love today!
Blessings
Laurie
