Thursday, 5 November 2020 – Pride and Humility

Good morning Church family

Last night at Bible study we looked at the pattern of God’s kingdom that emerges throughout the Old Testament. What we discovered is that we are to be God’s people living under God’s rule as King in God’s place under God’s Blessing (Rest). To venture out on our own, to live in our way by our own rules will only result in unpleasantness and strife.

The people of God have always had these two choices since the Garden. We see time and time again a walking away from God and the negative consequences of doing that. But we also see that each time God’s people return to Him, they are met with His loving embrace. What season are you in at present? If it feels good don’t get complacent, keep seeking him. If you know you are at the boundary, stop, or perhaps have you crossed over to the other side, we all have seasons like that, remember it never too late to return to Him. He stands ready, He’s waiting for you. Proverbs 11:2 says “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.”

We mustn’t let our pride keep us away from the things of God, it’s never to late to humble ourselves and turn to him.
