Good afternoon Church family
“But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.” says Psalms 3:3 NIV.
The Lord God is a shield about us, our protector, the one who takes the full force of the battle for us. Cocooned in His love we are sheltered, safe despite what is going on on the outer side of the shield. Think of the technology of Ironman, it’s a bit like that, God enables us to be strong beyond that which we think we are capable of or know to be possible.
The Lord is our glory, He is the one who protects our reputation and in whom we can take pride as we show what He has done for us to a world in need of a Saviour.
The Lord is the lifter of our heads, we don’t need to be the lifter, He takes that responsibility. In due course while we are downcast, God will work beauty from ashes, and give us cause to look up again, to face the world again.
Thank you Lord God that you are our shield, and the lifter of our heads!
