Good afternoon Church family
Today one of our sisters helped me to put up the nativity in the church. Seeing those figures made me think what a glorious night it must have been when Jesus was born. But it was also not without its challenges, it was a very stressful time in the lead up for Mary and Joseph, a journey at the most inconvenient time, no room to stay, a birth in less than ideal circumstances. But then the wonder that made them forget all the hardship.
Our faiths are a bit like that, sometimes life throws curveballs at us too, and yet it is important to remember why the journey is worth it. It is because Christ waits for us at the end and it will be a glorious moment. The Angel said it best…..
“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favour rests.”” Luke 2:10-14 NIV
