Good morning Church family
Today in 2 Chronicles 15, I was reading about King Asa who ruled over Judah and Benjamin at a time when there was a split in the kingdom of Israel. It seems as if the King was far from the Lord until a prophet Azariah can to give him a word from God. It says “He went out to meet Asa and said to him, “Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.” 2 Chronicles 15:2 NIV. King Asa had two choices; acknowledge his wrong doing and return to the Lord or continue as he was. The King chose to seek God and led the rest of the people to do the same. King Asa followed God for the rest of his life and let’s see how God responded.
The scripture says “They took an oath to the Lord with loud acclamation, with shouting and with trumpets and horns. All Judah rejoiced about the oath because they had sworn it wholeheartedly. They sought God eagerly, and he was found by them. So the Lord gave them rest on every side” 2 Chronicles 15:14-15 NIV. You see if we are God’s people in God’s place under God’s rule and blessing we will have rest for our souls and joy. Once we begin to understand the great truths of God we begin to see His pattern everywhere.
Each day we need to ask ourselves, am I acting as God’s person today, am I operating in His place and under His rule and blessing. If we seek Him, He will be found by us and we will experience His rest and joy!
Blessings
