Good morning Church family,
Last night we had a wonderful Bible study as we began a new series in 1Corinthians. We learnt that the church at Corinth had been established by Paul who initially stayed with the believers there for 18mths. After leaving them, the church began to have problems because they forgot who they were in Christ. Old ways crept back in and resulted in a number of issues affecting the life and health of the Church.
You see they had forgotten who they were meant to be. Dr Constable said they had to understand that they were a unique community of people who now shared the life of God. This truth was to affect they way they lived their lives, they were to stand out as the people of God.
1 Corinthians 1:2 says “To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours:”
When people ask us, we should know who we are, we should say of ourselves…. We are the church of God at Rimutaka, we are sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours:”
Blessings
